Life | Venture Out

“If you awaken from this illusion and you understand that black implies white, self implies other, life implies death (or shall I say death implies life?), you can feel yourself – not as a stranger in the world, not as something here on probation, not as something that has arrived here by fluke – but you can begin to feel your own existence as absolutely fundamental.”

– Alan Watts

“Venture out.” It’s not only’s simple but perfect raison d’être, it is a phrase which all of us would do well to spend more time thinking about. But unlike the other posts in this series on Life, the eloquence of Alan Watts in the video above needs no commentary or convincing here; as he said, “I am not trying to sell you on this idea in the sense of converting you to it, I want you to play with it.”

So take some time and reread the quote at the top a couple of times. Play with it.
